What Does It mean
To be A tween?

Violet’s experience as both a former middle school teacher and a photographer has filled her with experience and understanding of the wonderfully amazing, unique, and incredibly interesting age group affectionately known as tweens.  So what does it mean to be a tween?

Being a tween means transitioning from childhood into teenage years, and it’s usually between the ages of 9-13.  It’s a very important time where your young one is learning and finding their identity.  They are learning to be more grown up, while also holding onto their favorite childhood pastimes and traditions.

The importance of Tween Sessions

Tweens are becoming more self-aware about their image and their identity.  The approach that Violet June Photography takes with tween portrait sessions is designed to provide your tween with an experience where they feel beautiful, valued, and empowered while they are being photographed.  Through collaboration with you and your tween, we create the session that your tween envisions.  It’s designed to be a fun experience that highlights their personality.  A tween portrait session is a great additional way for you to help your tween gain confidence.

Our Tween Sessions focus on making your tween feel special, independent, and cool.  This experience truly is designed to help empower your awesome tween and help give them the confidence to step into who they are as an individual.  Whether your tween is quiet/reserved or outgoing/self-confident, our tween sessions are customized to their style and needs to help inspire them to be their passionate selves.  Feeling beautiful, important, and validated is something we all want to experience in life, especially tweens.

Tangible Memories &
Lasting Investment

Creating tangible memories is a fantastic way to help affirm your tween’s identity and value.  Studies indicate that having family portraits on display at home helps instill self-worth and confidence in your children.  It provides children with a sense of belonging and reconfirms their value as part of their family unit.  The same is very true for the power of tween portraits.  Having portraits on display of themselves during their tween ages will help affirm their identity and provide a daily visual reminder to them of who they are as an individual.  It’s an investment that can last with your tween throughout the year and provide you with tangible keepsake memories to pass to future generations within your family.
